Who am I?
Art is inherently social and political; these are things that are worth investigating and questioning without censoring. Form and language demand interpretation and experimentation. Compassion - shared suffering - is king. Creation is communal, even within a structure. These all create the foundation of my theatrical philosophy.
I am the current Executive Director of The Muse Project, based in New York City. The Muse Project is dedicated to empowering female actors by charging them to identify the stories and characters they want to embody, and then working to develop those stories. More information can be found here:
I co-founded of the Washington DC Coalition for Theatre & Social Justice with artist/activist Annalisa Dias. We are dedicated to creating productive alliances between artists, activists, and communities in the District of Columbia in order to face shared social, economic, health and human rights issues together.
