D/A is an adaptation of Virgil's classic doomed love story of Dido, Queen of Carthage and her lover, the Trojan hero Aeneas.
With a twist.
The genders of both characters are swapped. Aeneas is a woman, navigating the world of extreme religious devotion and leading the remnants of her people. Dido is an abandoned king, trapped in a world of his own ego and loneliness. In one fateful moment, they find love in the theory, but at what cost?
This adaptation uses music, language and movement to examine a world of dependency, psychosis, and love.
